Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Q: Do you get the same kind of intimacy as an in-person session?

A: Yes, usually it is about your relationship with the therapist. If you are not feeling therapy is working in an in-person or online session it is best to switch therapists. It has to do with connection, not the location or method of the therapy.

Q: Do you use Skype?

A: No. We use HIPAA-compliant software to ensure your security when working with a therapist online. We protect your confidentiality and all our communications are protected.

Q: Do I need anything special to attend these online sessions?

A: Only access to the internet, and privacy. We send you a link and that is it. Visit our rules page to see a general guideline.

Q: Can you do couple's therapy if we are in different locations?

A: Yes, we can as long as everyone is a permanent Texas resident we can have group sessions with people in different locations and time zones.

Q: Can you see anyone in the country or the world with online therapy?

A: Unfortunately, we cannot. Texas Online Counselors have licenses for Texas residents only. If laws change and a Licensed Professional Counselor can provide therapy across state lines, we will let you know.
